QB CHRIS GREISEN NAMED
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The Arena Football League has announced that Georgia Force (1-2) QB Chris Greisen has been named the AFL’s Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Los Angeles Avengers last Saturday night.

Greisen, 6-3, 220 pounds, led the Force past the Avengers for their first victory of the season last Saturday at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. He completed 26 of 41 passes for a season-high 366 yards with a season-high seven touchdowns in Georgia’s 58-34 victory. This is the first time he has earned this honor this season, but it marks the fifth time in Greisen’s career he has been named AFL Offensive Player of the Week after having the honor bestowed upon him on four occasions in 2007. Greisen has thrown for a league-high 1,024 yards on 80 of 122 passing with 18 touchdowns through the first three weeks of action this season. Georgia will return to the site where Greisen broke the AFL’s previous single-season touchdown record of 105 in 2007 when the Force travel to Orlando to take on the Predators on Saturday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. Greisen finished the 2007 season with an AFL all-time best 117 touchdown passes in 2007.

“We were very pleased with the way Chris performed against Los Angeles,” said Head Coach Doug Plank. “Chris seemed to be on the same page with his receivers last week, and we are looking forward to watching that corps gain trust in one another as the year goes on.”
